Dream Journey
Here I am,
sitting on the train;
it's warm in here,
but outside I see rain.
Everyone's here
out for a ride,
mother and son,
a groom and his bride.
Just over there
a man with a dog,
lady with shopping.
Outside now there's fog.
Onwards we go,
following the track;
The train always echoes
clickety clack.
Enter the tunnel
and now it is dark;
the windows like mirrors,
the dog gives a bark
Draw into the station,
the signal shows stop.
The doors clatter open
right next to the shop.
"All change please, All change!"
The conductor, he cries.
I watch the train empty
and rub at my eyes.
Slowly I waken,
get out of my bed
and farewell the dream train
with a shake of my head.
Untitled
I fade
As twilight leaves the darkening sky
Look for me not, for I'll be gone.
But in dreams seek me anon,
And to thee I will return
As flames will in their embers burn
when given air to feed upon.
Leave me free to come and go
as the ocean or the snow;
White and perfect as a swan.
My ways and paths one day you'll learn,
deeper and darker with each turn;
until you find me where I lie --
A star, long fallen from the sky.
